HOW TO FIND US

There are plenty of free parking spaces for you to use at the hotel. You may also rent a garage space for a daily price of 10 Swiss francs in the summer and 12 Swiss francs in the winter.

You can take the motorway from Basel, Geneva or Zürich via Bern or over the Brünig Pass (exit no. 25) via Luzern towards Interlaken. From here, take the main road to Grindelwald.

When you reach Grindelwald, take the main road until you get to the church, then on towards Oberer Gletscher. Drive for another 400m, and then turn left at the signpost towards the hotel (Kirchbühlstrasse).

Winter equipment, snow tyres and snow chains are required between October and April, and snow chain laws are occasionally enforced.

An annual fee of 40 Swiss francs is payable to use Swiss motorways. You can buy the ‘vignette’ pre-paid motorway toll stickers at the Swiss border, at petrol stations and at post offices.

If you need a parking space, we kindly request that you let us know in advance so one can be kept free for you.
Coaches can normally turn into Kirchbühlstrasse from Obere Gletscherstrasse.

Longer vehicles (three-axle coaches) must follow the Obere Gletscherstrasse until the turn in to Terrassenweg. You can turn round there and enter Kirchbühlstrasse from the other direction.

We would be glad to organise tickets for you to travel to Grindelwald on the InterCity Express (ICE) from Germany or from any Swiss airport. Just ask us!

International rail links (incl. ICE) will take you to Interlaken, from where the journey to Grindelwald on the Berner Oberland cogwheel railway lasts roughly 40 minutes.

Our hotel shuttle bus will bring you directly to and from Grindelwald station in the village centre. (Please book in advance)

We would be delighted to organise cheap train tickets from any Swiss airport to Grindelwald for you. You can take a direct train from the airports at Zürich-Kloten, Geneva-Cointrin and Basel-Freiburg-Mulhouse to Interlaken-Grindelwald. The Bern-Belp airport is linked to the rail network by means of an airport taxi service.

Our 13-seater hotel shuttle bus runs during normal hours as and when required, particularly for arrivals and departures.

In the winter, buses from the Grindelwald ski bus network stop directly at the Hotel Kirchbühl.
Bus number 124 (Stutz – Station – Bodmi) stops directly at the hotel every half hour.

The Alpenblick bus stop on main line number 121 (Oberer Gletscher – Station – Terminal V-Bahn) is only a five-minute walk from the hotel and is served all year round by the Grindelwald local bus.
